Permission to Play Out of Zone

Youth soccer (U11-U19) in Saskatoon is divided into five zones, each with geographic boundaries. Players are bound to register with their zone based on their primary residence. For more information about Hollandia's boundaries, visit our Zone Info page.

To facilitate players who may not wish to play with their home zone, Saskatoon Youth Soccer has a Permission to Play Out of Zone (or PTPOZ) process that must be followed, and is outlined below.

    Process

Players must request a transfer for each season they wish to play out of zone. Having a transfer in one season does not guarantee you a transfer for the next season.

All players must register with their home zone, and should also register with their desired zone. Players are to attend evaluations in both zones. After evaluations, the PTPOZ committee meets to discuss all transfer requests. Players will be notified within six days after the submission deadline (noted at the top of the form each season) by their home zone whether their transfer was approved.

Below are some common scenarios to assist you with understanding the steps you'll need to follow.

I reside in another zone, but want to play with Hollandia

    1. Register with your home zone.
    2. Register with Hollandia.
    3. Complete the Permission to Play Out of Zone form and submit it to either your home zone's registrar or the SYSI office.
    4. Inquire with your home zone as to whether you need to attend evaluations. This is a requirement in most zones.
    5. Attend Hollandia's evaluations.

Once you are informed of the committee's decision by your home zone, the zone in which you will not be playing will reimburse you any fees paid and will remove you from their registration records for the season.

I reside in Valley United and want to play in Saskatoon

Valley United players no longer require a release from Valley to play in Saskatoon. They are however bound by the extended zone boundaries, and must be in good standing with Valley United (have no outstanding fees or dues). Most of Valley United is covered in Hollandia's extended zone boundaries, with other portions covered by SUSC to the west of Highway 16 or Aurora to the east of the South Saskatchewan River.

Valley players register solely with their Saskatoon zone and do not have to register with Valley. If you do not wish to play with your home zone, follow the steps above to transfer to Hollandia, or steps below to transfer out of Hollandia.
