Saturday January 14th saw ASTRA host the Lloydminster Rustlers and Lakeland College teams for joint development initiative games. The Rustlers brought a number of good teams, ranging from U10 boys to a team which consisted mainly of players from the Lakeland College which plays in the Alberta College League.
The morning games were held at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre, while the afternoon games switched to the Sasktel Sports Centre. All the ASTRA teams performed very well, and the work which is being done on individual skiils is starting to show. ASTRA training groups all played against older Lloydminster teams, making the contests really competitive. The final game between ASTRA U16 group and the mostly Lakeland College group provided a great example of good soccer.
We thank former Hollandia coach Kevin Wagner and his Lloydminster group for providing the opportunity.
